At the workshop on Friday Simon Buckingham Shum
demonstrated the latest version of KMI’s web-based argumentation software - Cohere
- essentially a sister product to Compendium
. Looking forward to having a proper play with it to see how it might be used to represent learning designs. I am particularly intrigued by the interactive dynamic net view of connections and ideas. It reminds me of some software developed by Penn State called ConceptVista
which was an ‘ontology creation and visualisation tool’. In the DialogPlus project
we linked the learner design toolkit we created (DialogPlus
) to ConceptVista as a means of designers/teachers visually representing their designs. We never really had the chance to fully explore this in that project so it might be fun to relook at this with Cohere.
