Hi Sue

yes we need to work out some way of connecting this and maximising their potential by cross referencing etc so that we get a better critical mass. Letting people go to the sites they want, the communities they are part of, but having the ideas etc distributed and shared across the different communities

Thanks for the Technology-Supported Learning Database link! I have not made it into the Cloudworks site but will soon.

Another site that is encouraging teacher-made content is http://www.watchknow.org/ which is a "free video contest/program to support American K-12 public education". The organization is focusing on short instructional videos that will be available under a Creative Commons Sharealike-Attribution license.

Then there is curriki - http://www.curriki.org/ where they "believe that access to knowledge and learning tools is a basic right for every child. Our goal is to make curricula and learning resources available to everyone".

I also love the fact that Teacher Education programmes are starting to see the powerful learning resulting from new teachers developing learning activities. Unfortunately, this program: http://tinyurl.com/5lun2b has not dumped them into a public repository (ideally, one that is already well-used!) ...which is the next step, I believe!

It's good to see these open resource communities popping up - perhaps we just need a specialized meta-search approach something like Dogpile ( http://www.dogpile.com/ ) but specific to learning activities at certain sites (Here is a sample specialized economic search engine: http://www.wu-wien.ac.at/inst/vw1/zagler/search/ )
