I was going to rejoice that you managed to blog directly from your iPad onto this blog, until I read that you were still blocked. I searched for the issue you were having, and found this page of possible solutions -- they sound pretty complicated but maybe something will work?

Impressed with the length of post you've written on it :)
With Keynote, were you able to specify a blog to post to (as you can in Word?) I'm partially interested as a friend is going to Tanzania (I think, somewhere in Africa!) and wanted to blog while she was there. I've used the Wordpress app on both iPod & Android & she's going to look at that, but, as she's got an iPad, if Keynote is another option would be good to tell her.

As to the length of the post, were you using the onscreen keyboard, siri, or an external keyboard?

Hi Emma can see me doing the same iPad mini for most things, phone as a phone! Like the size of it, found the iPad just too big and heavy interestingly... Will let you know how I get on... will be interesting to see if the love affair continues!

So, are you seeing your iPad mini as a 'mobile'?
Interesting to hear your views of the iPad (proper) - I've not got one, but I have got a Nexus 7 (similar size to the iPad mini), which I love, due to its portability. I've currently got a smart phone, but, given the affordances of the Nexus, could see my next phone being more of a 'feature' phone than a super duper iPhone 9 or whatever is the Android equivalent, & a 7" tablet (& mifi to get online with it when I'm out & about)

However, getting back to the phone, have you seen http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-22397932 ? About the addictive nature of phones.

I think different communities have different levels of comfort with social media. PELeCON attendees almost certainly comfortable with twitter etc. but other communities maybe not so.... Interesting that many of the really big names in our field don't engage with social media...

Hi Grannine
this certainly wasn't evident at PELeCON 13, do you think this landscape is changing, or in line with what Jane Davis presented there is a rift between the resident and the visitor?

Hmmm good point. I think sometimes you do need to teach facts, to enable learners to develop the right discourse. However helping them go beyond knowledge recall is key!

Thanks for sharing. One thing that i find hard to explain to others about that Einstein quote about Education and Fact - that those that i try to speak to are stuck on "but we need to know facts before we can build on anything". Given that that is so, how would you explain this quote to the layman who's stuck on "but we need to know facts"?

Hi Fiona nice thoughts! Agree maybe that apprehension might equate to non-reflective. Also agree with your other points. In another variant I have informal-formal as a dimension. The limits of living in 3D! ;-)
